Q: Can I give a tip and remain anonymous?
A: Yes, you can. Information from citizens can be very helpful. You must remember, however, that law enforcement officers can not take action based only on an anonymous tip. We must be able to view the activity first-hand, corroborate the tip, or have a signed written statement in order to take action.
Q: I got a ticket, what do I need to do?
A: You must contact the court for this information.

A: We have four full-time officers including Sheriff Clark, Undersheriff Schmitt, Deputy Wilhelms, and Deputy Hammontree. We also have one part-time officer, Deputy Matlosz.
Q: Why are the deputies on the highway so much? Isn't that the Highway Patrol's responsibility?
A: Your Judith Basin County Sheriff's Department is responsible for protecting the safety of everyone in the county, including all citizens and those just driving through the area. Traffic safety is a concern for all of us, we are proactive in traffic enforcement because it makes a difference. This is also one of the most effective ways for us to locate people with warrants and other factors that are directly related to the safety of our citizens.
